What did you do this past week?
This past week I spent time reviewing the Java refactoring code we went over in class. I also took some time to rest after a busy semester. The past week was less stressful than most, although I know that finals week will be very stressful. I also spent time working on our group’s presentation for this upcoming week.
What’s in your way?
Nothing is in my way right now. I am trying to work on my final projects and study for my upcoming exams.
What will you do next week?
Next week I will continue to study for my final exams and work on final projects. I also am looking forward to watching the presentations in class. I am also looking forward to going home after classes end.
If you read it, what did you think of the The Joel Test?
I thought that this was another interesting read. It provided a great way to think about source control and bug databases. These are both essential in development, especially when working in a large team.
What was your experience of Replace Type Code with State/Strategy (227)? (this question will vary, week to week)
I thought that this was pretty straightforward for me to understand. It was interesting to see new ways to refactor and write cleaner code.
What made you happy this week?
This week I was happy to hangout with friends both Friday and Saturday night, since I had been busy the past few weekends with school work. It was a good break to get out of the house this weekend.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick of the week is to get experience with different languages and technologies. Understanding different levels of technologies can improve critical thinking skills and understanding of computers in general. I think that understanding high level and low level languages like python and C, respectively can improve your understanding of how computers really work.
