What did you do this past week?

This past week I spent some time reviewing the SQL code that we went over in class. Most of it was not very challenging to understand. I also spent time working on my group’s project. I worked on refactoring our selenium gui tests, and filtering through our API endpoints, instead of on the frontend.

What’s in your way?

Nothing is currently in my way. I am trying to keep up with the course material and contribute to our project.

What will you do next week?

Next week I will continue to work on phase four of the project and continue to review the SQL concepts we went over in class. I also have a lot of other work in other classes to catch up on.

If you read it, what did you think of the More getters and setters?

I thought this paper was another really interesting read. This paper provided more insights into why using getters and setters are bad, and provided some useful design tips to avoid them.

What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

I thought that all of the SQL concepts we went over in class made a lot of sense. There was not any concept that was hard to follow for me.

What made you happy this week?

This week most of my classes had deadlines for projects, so now I have a few days to relax and destress before getting into another week of exams and projects soon.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to work with a second monitor. Being able to look at two windows at once with two monitors improves my productivity by a lot. I spend less time switching tabs/windows and less time thinking about what I’m looking for since odds are what I’m looking for is on the other monitor. It is helpful to have code on one screen, and documentation on another screen so that I can have them both up simultaneously and I do not need to keep switching windows.
